Welcome to Pine Ridge
Pine Ridge Wildlife and Environment Foundation provides care, food, and refuge to thousands of wild animals and millions of birds in the Birds Hill and Pine Ridge area in the R.M. of Springfield, and takes in un-adopted animals from municipalities around Southern Manitoba.
Painstakingly landscaped and restored from the remnants of an abandoned gravel pit, Pine Ridge has been cultivated over 25 years into one of Manitoba’s most beautiful habitats — a place of pine, spruce and tamarack glades, tall grass, reedy ponds, stepped hills, and wandering creeks and gullies.
Under the mandate of founder Dan Ritchie, we work to preserve and nurture a refuge for creatures of all shapes and sizes. Although extremely beautiful, Pine Ridge is not open to the general public. We do welcome visitors to contact us for tours and viewing opportunities.
